The week….half gone!! ;)

Hey Everyone….Me again!!! I hope you all have been having a GREAT week…..I would like to first say THANK YOU to everyone that responded to my selling of the rubber/acrylic stamps and the stamp maker the other day…I was AMAZED at how FAST they were snatched up!!! I really hope you all enjoy them!!!!
So…I played with paper a bit tonight….well actually last night and tonight…I needed to create a birthday card for a customer’s mother……she will be 82…..Impressive huh!!!  She loves flowers….well now that’s just right up my alley huh!!!   So I decided to use one of the card designs I had created some time back……and this time doing it with my print and cut with Inkscape/Signcut it was a BREEZE!!!  Here’s how it turned out….

What was SO fun about this is I created the flourish myself……LOVE INKSCAPE…   then cut it out in vinyl….(I was GOING to use some rub n buff stuff that Tyler at is contemplating carrying…well like a dope I messed it up… I decided to use vinyl……it cut SO BEAUTIFULLY!!!  Then I took some white pearl dots and colored them with my copic markers and then accented the flourish design with them…I thought it turned out pretty cool!!!!  If anyone is interested in the flourish file…I’m sharing it below….

Then as a refesher……I thought I would remind you which files I used to create this card…..they are files I had previously shared some time ago……

So that’s my FUN I had for tonight……I hope you liked my card!!! I did have a lot of fun making it…..So I would like to, as always…THANK YOU for stopping by to visit with me……I pray you all have a wonderful remainder of the week and a very blessed weekend!!!!!  I hope you will come by again…until next time……

A nice Sunday for family…….

Hey Everyone….I hope you are all having a WONDERFUL Saturday and making all the dads & grandpas in our world feel so special!!!!
I had a chance this weekend to play a bit and have been having fun…..I’ve created a couple of new files…I also had a request for a new flower design……the lady who was requesting it is wanting to make them for her daughter’s upcoming pageant competition and it’s their state flower….I was totally honored to be asked to see if I could come up with a flower design….and even more honored that she loves how it has come out!!!!  I wish her daughter the best at her competition!!!!
So…I thought I would share with you what the flower is…what it looks like and show you the tutorial I’ve done up for creating this flower……..So what is it already right….   It’s the Indian Paint Brush Flower…’s my take on it….along with an image of what one of them actually look like…..
PDC Indian Paintbrush Flower Mockup 6-18-2011

So… you like them?????? If you do would you like to know how to make them???  I’m sharing a tutorial below…….
Now……If you would like to have the file I’m sharing it here…..

I hope you like this design…they really really work up fast……and are kind of pretty….I had never even heard of this flower before but was totally honored to be asked to make one……I pray I’ve done the gorgeous flower justice…..
Ok….Then I’ve also been busy this weekend working up a couple of files for requests I’ve had………thought some of you might be interested in them… you can find them below….

Okie Dokie!!! I “think” this catches me up for now!!! I hope you’ve found something you might enjoy here!!!!
Ok…off I go to the next project…I hope you all are having a very blessed day…THANK YOU so much for stopping by….please come by again…until next time….

Happy Wednesday Everyone……

I hope you’re all enjoying a wonderful week thus far!!!  It’s a bit rainy here but thankfully no severe weather!!!!
So I have officially completed the 1st of the 3 wall hangings I’m doing for three winners of my blog hop a couple of weeks ago…….I thought I would share it with you as I was quiet happy with the way it turned out……
I’ve also fallen in love with being able to do the FILL feature in my pieces so when I engrave pieces with my Lynx “Sable” I’m able to fill in the inside of the pieces so it’s not just the outline of something…it is WAY COOL!!!!!!  I am now using a combination of Inkscape & Signcut software to allow me to do this and it is the perfect match for me!!!!  Anyway….Here’s the piece if you would care to see….

This piece is for Retta….her blog is called Royal Inspirations and she shared with me her favorite colors so I’m “hoping” she will love this piece…….time will tell…..
To create this I used some of the metal sheets from Tyler at and it works BEAUTIFULLY!!!!  It started out silver but I distressed with alcohol inks before I engraved it…..ended up not liking it so I used alcohol blending solution to remove most of the color…..then tried using silver rub n buff on the engraving….didn’t like that either so then I took more alcohol blending solution and denatured alcohol and between the two got most of all of it off and a lot of scrubbing and ended up with this…what I call a “happy accident” cause it has just enough of a petina on the metal that I really like the affect…….
I just knew I didn’t want to start the piece complete over as it took a good 5 hours at a velocity of 600 to engrave it…LOL  but I love how it turned out…..
So I thought I would go ahead and share the frame design I created in case anyone might be interested in it…’ll see it twice listed below….One is the frame without the design being filled and the other is with the design filled…….I’m doing this because I know that the filled piece is too much for MTC and SCAL to handle…..I know this because I tried and it kept locking up the program….not at all slighting the programs….they’re great programs….but they’re not meant to handle this many nodes……It zipped on through with Inkscape & Signcut which is another reason I have fallen in love with this combination!!!

Then while playing with Inkscape and watching some more tutorials….one can never learn enough I created the doilie you see below….it was so much FUN…it all started out as a starburst and I went from there with it….I have cut this and it cuts GREAT!!!!!!

Okie Dokie….that catches me up for now….I so hope you’ve found something here you like!!!   As always…THANK YOU so very much for stopping by to visit with me…..I wish you all a VERY blessed day!!! And I do hope you will come by again…..Until next time…..

It’s a THURSDAY!!!!

Hey Everyone…..I hope you’re all having a wonderful week so far!!! I’m happy to say this was my Friday for the week and I get to spend the next 4 days in my ARTHaven!! Yeahhhhhhhhhhhhh ME!!
So…..I had something I’ve been working on this week and wanted to share it with you as I think it turned out rather nice…..In the process of creating this I also decided to go ahead and work up a tutorial on creating my PDC Grungy Long Stem Roses…….I've had several ask how I make them and since I've added a few steps I thought it best to maybe work up a new tutorial…..
Now keep in mind this all started out as white and green cardstock, some metal and wire………..I love it and I hope you will as well…….

Notice the tag…..this was actually some copper metal I had purchased from Tyler at  I used my Lynx “Sable” to engrave the poem onto it then distressed with some alcohol inks and then did a mat layer for it in watercolor paper making it into a tag also printed the poem on the inside in case some had problems reading the small print and then leaving a place for someone to write a personal message……I REALLY REALLY REALLY….did I say REALLY LOVE the engraving……as I’ve started using a new program (to ME) to cut out all my files with my Lynx….it’s called Signcut…it works in conjunction with Inkscape (which I LOVE) so I can just create and then send directly to cut without having to send to another program……..AND it allows me to do as much detail in the engraving as I care to…….I’ve come to realize that MTC (thought it’s a great program) can’t handle the amount of detail in an engraving file when I fill in the fonts to engrave fully…..

I’m showing several pictures of this bouquet so you can see that I tweeked my roses all different and even created some into rose buds to give the bouquet a bit more of a realistic look…….

Of course I had to add some of my dragonflies and butterflies to the piece!!!!
So in creating this piece I did work up a couple of files…..thought I would share them here and also a link to the PDC Grungy Rose File incase anyone wanted it that didn’t already get it….

Then I had a request earlier in the week for a briefcase gift card holder so I worked one up for the person……..she loved it so I thought I would share it with you here in case anyone else is interested in it……
I’ve had several people email me asking me what I think about my Lynx……I LOVE sharing with everyone exactly what I think about my machine….there are not enough postive words in the English Dictionary to describe it fully….the more I use this machine the more I love it more and more every single day!!!!!

Soooooooooooooooooo…I “think” this FINALLY catches me up………I hope you enjoyed your visit……and I REALLY REALLY hope you will come back by tomorrow as I’m participating in a June Mini Crop with members of our Black Cat USA Forum……

Don't forget the June Mini Crop.  It begins Friday night at 5 p.m. Central time!!!!!!!!!  We have five amazing challenges to help you prepare for Spring and Father's Day along with some great prizes!!!!!
I will have a new tutorial and flower design to offer up for the challenge.…So I hope you’ll come back by!!!!!
I would like to THANK YOU if you made it this far and I would like to wish you all a VERY BLESSED WEEKEND!!!!  Until next time….
