My Cutting Files

Hello Everyone...after much thought I have decided once again to share my cutting files with you all....If you are interested there is a link at the top of my blog underneath the header which will take you to my download site for the files.....Please be aware...while browsing through my previous blogposts... when you find a file you like.....the link for that image is broken...you will need to go to the link at the top of my blog to do a search for the file to download....as it is too time consuming to go through each and every post and correct the links for the files. I trust you will all understand this.
I too, will again offer the entire collection for purchase on DVD if anyone would be interested...you will find the option for that in my store....As I create new files they will be complied on a DVD in the future for those who prefer to combine that way.

Happy Monday Everyone....

Good Morning Good Morning to you all!!! I hope you were able to enjoy a wonderful weekend!!! I know I certainly did!!!  Though my heart does break for all of the sad SAD protests that are going on in Charlotte, NC...prayers go out to that part of our America!!!  And also for those that were viciously attacked!!

I do not watch the news on the weekends....I keep my ARTHaven peaceful and enjoyable tuning out the outside world and all of the insanity!!!  Doing that allows me to be creative!! Having said that I just wanted to share with you a FUN card I created this weekend.....I think it turned out adorable......

Over in the Yahoo Group I have...... "The Creative Corner" we are having an Autumn Swap.....creating a card/envie set that makes you think of Autumn.....I have to say I do believe this is my favorite time of the year.....You can feel the beginning of briskness in the air...the leaves changing and the cool mornings....breezy afternoons and the perfect time to have windows open and hear the birds chirping!!! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh SO serene!!! Sorry...got distracted dreaming!!! ;)

Back to the swap Penny.... LOL  So here's the card I came up with.....using one of my pumpkin files, & my acorn file I've shared years ago.....and then I used a tag file and then created the phrase......cut all using my Brother ScanNCut 2......I just can't say it enough....I absolutely am loving this machine!!  It does such a beautiful job on cuts and does a very nice job using the deep cut blade and holder cutting .030 chipboard......

Didn't it turn out so super cute!!! As you can see I've manipulated  the pumpkin file a bit to give me different sizes and shapes......and I distressed the edges of the layers with Gathered Twigs distress ink on the orange pumpkins and Rusty Hinge on the black pumpkin.....for the leaves I used decorative colored papers then distressed them more by crumpling them up and then color with spritzers......and dried....I think it gives them more of an authentic look of leaves.....

I did back the pumpkins and the sign with chipboard layers to give more substance to the pieces and also did the same to the Background layer......then ran through my Ebosser with the chicken wire embossing sleeve...distressed the debossing and then colored with Rusty Hinge.......then colored the edges with some more of the Rusty Hinge after I distressed with my electric distressing tool by Zutter.

I had alot of fun making this card......it's going postal to it's recipient today....sure hope she likes it!!

Ok.....I also wanted to share with you all that I am slowing getting my ETSY store back up and running again.....working on pieces to add to it does indeed take time.......But if any of you are in the look out for jewelry or embroidery projects, embroidery files, new cutting files I would love for you to hope over to my store and see if anything interests you.....

One thing I did want to remind everyone....last year you may remember me sharing I made custom stockings for each member of my family.....they were a HUGE HUGE hit.....here's a reminder.....

Well....I got a NEW embroidery machine this past week......as the other one is not serviceable any longer and I was having alot of struggles with it embroidering...... ;(  Am still able to use it to sew so it will still get used and loved....but with my new machine I am once again able to create pieces I love doing......

So....I've decided that I'm going to offer to make custom Christmas Stockings......and have listed that ability in my ETSY store.....so...if this is something you're interested in...I would love to hear from you.....OR....if you have something else you would like to have embridered.....please send me an email and let's discuss it....I am able to create any file from the vision you have......my email addy is nanapduncan@gmail.com

As I get older and wanting to eventually retire from the working world I would love to be able to put my focus more and more on my passion of creating and felt this would be a great transition for me!!! I have gotten back into Social Media more to help promote myself so if any of you are interested I would LOVE for you to follow me on Pinterest, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram or Tumblr.

Okie Dokie Artichokie!!! That catches me up for the day!!! I want to THANK YOU all SO very much for stopping by and visiting with me!!! Hope you enjoyed the fun card I created...would LOVE to hear from you....and I do hope you will stop by and visit with me again soon.....I wish you all a very Blessed week ahead....Until next time!!

Happy Thursday....Halloween is a Coming.....

Hey Everyone!!! Hope you are all doing WONDERFUL this Thursday morning!!! We've almost made it to the end of another week....Can't wait!!!  Last weekend hubby and I kept our youngest granddaughter "Tator" all weekend while her mommy and daddy went out of town for a much needed "time alone" weekend....they had alot of fun as did "Tator's" Nana & PawPaw!!  But when you're not used to have a wee one on a regular basis it can slap wear ya out!!  So I'm looking forward to a layed back UNEVENTFUL weekend!!

So.....I shared a couple of weeks ago a FUN Gatefold card I created......works up REALLY fast and is so adorable......If you missed it here's the blogpost I did about it...... http://pennyduncancreations.blogspot.com/2016/09/good-morning-happy-sunday.html

Well I decided I wanted to do another Halloween card and I wanted it to be equally as fun.....a very dear friend of mine had created a card the other day that was super cute!!!  And it reminded me of an animal I had made a few years back......so I decided to take that animal and create a card base from it......I think it turned out SUPER cute and just wanted show you!!

Isn't it FUN!!!!  I decided to work up a tutorial showing how I put it all together....just so you can see how easy peasy it is to work up......which then enables you to embellish however you wish......just let your imagination take you away!!

Now.....don't you think it's super FUN and easy to do!!!  I hope so.....as I shared in the video...I cut it out using my Brother ScanNCut machine...but will cut beautifully whichever digital cutting machine you have!! if you like this you can purchase it from either here at my blog...you'll find a link on the right column of my blog.....OR you can purchase from my ETSY Store ....here's a direct link to this file:

Thought I would show you a few more pics so you can see different angles...

Okie Dokie Artichokie!! That does it for me for now....I really really hope you enjoyed this card.....Would LOVE to hear from you!!!  I THANK YOU so much for stopping by to visit with me...and hope you will stop by again very soon!!! Until then....

Good Morning...Happy Tuesday...

Goodness I can not believe the weekend went by so fast!!! It was wonderful...but I so wish I could slow down time when I'm off!! ;)

So I just wanted to share with you all......I've received emails from some....not all.....whom are not able...for reasons unknown to me....to download my cutting files I've shared over the years.....I have no solution for that other than to let you know I have now decided to offer them again on a DVD that I will be happy to mail to you.  I've compiled all the cutting files I've created over the years through 6/29/2016 into 1 DVD for easy reference.  If this is something you might be interested in you can find a link to purchase it on the right side of my blog....or you may go directly to my ETSY store and purchase from there.

Also...I thought I would share with you....I've decided to relist on both here on my blog....to the right my collection of the Engraving (fill) files I've created through 6/29/2016 and on my ETSY store.  These are perfect to use to either engrave onto acetate, metal, acrylic, wood, leather etc...as I've shared in a video here...
..if you have the digital machine that can handle these...such as a Silver Bullet or other.....OR if you wanted you could draw out these files using pens/markers or how about embossing pens....as I've shared in a video here....using my Brother ScanNCut2 machine.....
The possibilities are only limited to your creativity!!  If these are something you could use in your ART.....I would love for you to check them out.....

The one last thing......I also made the decision to put together once more a DVD offering all of the 3D Flower files I've created over the years through 6/29/2016 with the accompanying video tutorials I've shared on my Youtube channel for easy reference.  I know some may experience data limits with your internet....or perhaps your internet connection may be slower.....these would be perfect to have on hand for quick reference whenever you want to work on 3D flowers.  If this is something you would find helpful....I encourage you to check them out as well!

I want to THANK YOU for your years of support for me in my passion for creating!! It means way more that you know......If I can ever assist you in something, please feel free to let me know....I THANK YOU also for stopping by my blog and visiting with me for a few....I wish you all a very blessed week and hope you will stop by again...Until next time...

How about this.....2 Tutorials in Same Day!

Good Afternoon Everyone....Hope you are all having a FANTASTIC day still!!!  How about me...actually getting 2 tutorials completed AND posted in one day!!!  Feather in my cap huh!! ;)

So I had a request for someone for me to explain how they could create a "faux cross stitch" border around a shape.......so I took on the task and worked on a tutorial on just one way you can achieve this affect....Keeping in mind there's always more than one way to skin a cat...but this is super simple...and you can really customize it just the way you like....

Here's the video......

Once you've completed the file...as I shared in the video...you will be able to use this in any of your programs you use to cut SVG files with your digital die cutting machines.

Hope you enjoyed the video...and again..as always...THANK YOU so much for stopping by to visit....I wish you a very blessed week.....please come by again..Until next time!!

Good Morning & Happy Sunday.....

To you all....I hope this morning finds you happy and healthy!!! It is a BEAUTIFUL day in my little town and the sun is shining brightly....there's a nice breeze going....I have the windows open in my ARTHaven and I am truly enjoying this morning!!!!  Praise to the Lord for blessing us with this day...right!!?  YES Indeed!!!!

So...Friday after work I decided it was time to treat myself to a little shopping therapy at Hobby Lobby & Michael's before traveling across the bridge to my little town......a few goodies just managed to JUMP into my cart...and I just was not able to resist!! ;)  Don't you just love it when that happens.....who was I to tell them they couldn't come home with me......so home they came!!

While shopping I decided that I would like to start making some Halloween and Christmas themed cards.......so that's what I geared my shopping towards.....I already had some goodies at home....but just love adding to my stash.....I think that's a big part of our addiction!!!  That's the story I'm sticking to anyway!  So Friday evening I came up to my ARTHaven and went through all my stamps and papers and pulled out what I have that is Halloween and Christmas themed.....realized I have WAY more Christmas...which is just perfect for this gal!  But decided I would start off my creating with a Halloween card......OK...so here I go just trying to think up something in my brain.....

The group I own....The Creative Corner on Yahoo recently had a Gatefold card swap......I really enjoy the look of the gatefold on a card....so that's what I decided to go with......and then the idea popped into my peabrain...well...Penny....why not make a GATE Gatefold card...LOL and the ideas just went from there!!!  ROFL....So...Here's what I came up with.....

Isn't it adorable!!!! ;)  If I must say so myself.....so I worked up a video walking you through exactly how I made and put the card together....you can see it here....

Here's the still photos of some different angles of the card if you would like to see....

And...as I shared in the video I have listed the 2 files I created to make this card in MY ETSY Store which you can see the links below.....

Okie Dokie....That catches me up for this morning!!! I really hope you enjoyed the happy card  I shared....Would LOVE to hear your input and thoughts......I would like to THANK YOU so much for taking a bit of your day to come by and visit me......I do so hope you will come by again!!! Until next time....

I also want to thank those of you who have left warm comments...they touched my heart and made me feel very special!!  My goal is to be sharing just as much as I did in years past....So I do hope you will make my blog a regular stop on your blog travels!!!

Happy Hump Day...and another video!

Good Morning Everyone!!! How about this.....2 posts in as many days!!  Feels GREAT to be getting back into the swing of things!!  I've truly missed this.....

A couple of months back we purchased a new home (not a NEW home...but new to us)....we lived in the county before and we moved into the city......Well....out in the county our internet SUCKED even though we had DSL it was awful!!!  Since moving into the city (which is still a very small town) the internet provider we have has cable internet and the speed of it is SOOOOOOO much better and faster!!  What used to take me 2 days to upload a video....now takes me about 10 to 15 minutes!!! WOWZERS!!!  I was so thrilled this morning......so I am definitely motivated to do more videos......

Get back on track Penny!! LOL  Sorry......got sidetracked over my excitement of an actual GOOD internet connection.....Yesterday in my video I shared with you what a wonderful teacher I feel Julie Fei-Fan Balzer is with the Brother Scan and Cut tutorials....her personality seems so bright and cheery I truly enjoy watching all her videos....feels like a friend I've never met....

Well...while watching her very informative videos...one in particular she had done a live Q&A session for her viewers to ask questions about the BSC2 machine.......someone had inquired about doing a fill design with the BSC2...meaning the person wanted the machine to be able to fill the inside of say a font or whatever they might want.....Julie had shared that at that point it was not able to do that.....

Being a person who has created files for close to a decade now....I knew I was able to create engraving files or "filled files" and there are several programs that will allow you to do it.....and I was most confident that if I created the file the BSC2 would indeed "fill" the inside of the font or whatever item I wanted filled......so I set out on my mission.....and I was indeed correct......

It's super easy and I think you will love the ability!!!  I decided to work up a video to explain exactly how to do it and show you how simple it really is....especially when you're using the right software.....So here's the video if you wanna check it out....

Isn't that COOL!!! And like I shared....SUPER easy!!!  I know so many of us own the SCAL4(Pro) software now because of all the different cutting machines out there and Brandon has done such a phenomenal job engineering the software to work with most all of them.....so if you have the software why not utilize it...right????  I will say...I think it is MUCH easier to create the "fill file" in SCAL4(Pro) over Inkscape (which I LOVE), Corel Draw or Adobe Illustrator...as with those 3 programs you would have to end up doing tweeking in most cases.....but with SCAL4(Pro) you see I did absolutely no tweeking to make the file perfect for using! Kudos to Brandon!!

Here's a still pic of the embossing I did on the files I drew out with the BSC2

I really hope you enjoyed this idea and you might find it useful in your future projects!!!  If you have any other things you would like to see....Please drop me a comment below and let me hear from you!!  As I've shared I truly do want to delve completely back into sharing as I have for so many years!!!

Thank you SO much for stopping by to visit with me!! I do hope you'll come by again...and I would like to wish you all a very blessed day!!! Until next time....

Happy Tuesday to you All...I'm still around!!

Hello Hello Everyone!!! I hope you are all enjoying a wonderful week thus far!!!  We're coming up on a 3 day weekend and I'm so excited!! Looking forward to spending a long weekend in my ARTHaven......

So....for the first time in a VERY long time I actually worked up a short video for you all.....hope you'll watch....and then below I thought I would share with you a few things I have actually created over the past couple of months.....and I do plan on being ALOT more active!!!

So...as I shared in the video...I REALLY do want to hear more specific feedback on what you would like to see videos on.....and files as well...I am determined to get back to the creative point I was before....One of the questions that was posed to ladies in a group I own by another member...was..."What is one thing we do not know about you?"....Well I thought about that for a while.....and this group of ladies in my group is a very close knit group of friends...we've been cyber friends for the better part of 10 years......and some of them even a decade longer....so all of them know I'm pretty much an open book.....

I thought about this question for a bit and one thing hit me....I think I play off on my blog posts and such like I have it all together and just create create and create....but over the last couple of years I find myself with lots of ideas and NO follow through...that's my struggle...and hard to accept about myself...but it's the truth....and I do NOT like that about me.....Thankfully....however...it is something I CAN change about myself....and I am determined to do just that!!!

One of the main things I'm determined to follow through with is the promise to myself to follow through on keeping current on blog posts and creating and sharing....it's something I truly have a passion for and have been dearly missing....SO.....I want feedback from YOU....if you have hung with me......What would you like to see videos/tutorials on???  Do you have any specific file ideas you would like to see??? I REALLY want to know!!!!  So please share!!!

Now that I have that out in the open....I want to share with you some things I HAVE been doing....and it did feel good to play with paper!!

This is one of the first cards I had made in a long time....it's pretty basic and created it using some scraps I had on hand....I just love the colors of it....it felt great just to play.....

The flowers you see on it are some I made using silk flower pieces from flowers I had disassembled and the created new flowers from...then I colored them with distress ink....so I was able to create the custom color I wanted....

This card I had ALOT of FUN with!!!! As I shared in the video above....I recently purchased the new Brother Scan and Cut 2 machine.......I was so intrigued by the scan and cut abilities I broke and finally gave in and ordered one...I DO still have my Silver Bullet Pro cutter and love it!! However I am VERY impressed with the ease in which I am able to stamp an image....emboss it if I want...or print off an image and then scan it with my Brother and cut in one fail swoop!!!  The Brother Scan and Cut 2 is a VERY VERY nice machine and one I am proud to say I own......However there are things I know I will not be able to do with it that I KNOW I can still do with my Silver Bullet Pro.....so each one will have it's place in my ARTHaven for sure!!!!
So...the pieces of this flower arrangement on the front of the gatefold card I stamped out.....and did the Scan and Cut technique with my Brother and I am super impressed.....it was SO SO easy...look at the detail and how perfectly I was able to get the cuts around the leaves.....and the flower....perfectly!!

You can even see how I embossed the flower image....and I still was able to get a very nice scan and cut it perfectly...so there was no distortion of the scan from the embossing prior to putting the image to the mat.....This is one piece of equipment in my ARTHaven that will be used OFTEN!!!  As I've wanted to enjoy stamping for so many years but did not want to invest in the cutting dies when I have my cutter....and even though I could most certainly use my scanner from my printer and go through steps using SCAL4 and my Silver Bullet Pro and cut the stamped images that way.....it just didn't flow as easily and quickly as it does with the Brother Scan and Cut 2.

I really like how rustic this card turned out.....I used distress stickles in the center of the flower and it just added the right amount of additional grunge to the card!! Can't wait to send it out to the swap recipient I'm assigned to in my group....Hope they like it!!!

This next card is one I whipped up a couple months back.....but I hadn't yet shared on my blog....I stamped the layers on watercolor paper and then used my Spectrum Noir Watercolor markers and my waterbrush to color.......if you couldn't tell...I do love grunge!!! LOL as you can see in the spreading of the green on the stems in the jar.....

I used dimensional squares to lift the layers up off the card.....and then added some green plaid ribbon.....I think the card turned out so cute!!!!

This is such a pretty stamp set and so many possibilities with it!!!  Now that I have my Brother Scan and Cut 2 I know I'll be using it even more on cards.....

So....This about catches me up for now!!!  Hope you stuck with me....And I truly and sincerely want to THANK YOU so much for stopping by and visiting with me for a bit!!! I really want to hear from you......please let me know if you would still like to see videos/tutorials....and be specific what you would like to see...and also if you would like for me to start creating files again......I'm looking forward to jumping back in with  both feet!!!!

I wish you all a VERY blessed week!!! And do hope you will come by and visit with me again soon!!! Until then.....

Hello Again to You!!!

Hey Hey again Everyone!! Hope you all enjoyed a wonderful Independence Day Weekend!!!!  We
have had rain rain and MORE rain as of late!!! I believe I am so ready for some good ole' sunshine for a while!!!!

So another week has about come and gone...I'm looking forward to a weekend spent in my ARTHaven this weekend!!!

I DID get some time in mine this past long weekend and accomplished creating something too!! How about that!!  The Creative Corner Yahoo Group of mine decided to do a couple of swaps.....and one of them is a Tag Book swap...felt so awesome to actually be creating again......took me a bit to get going but once I did and finally broke through I have to say I had alot of fun!!!!  Thought I would share with you some pics of what I created!!!

I really had so much fun creating each 2 page spread....on the last 2 page spread I have several layers of color on it....couldn't find just what I liked til I finally achieved the above...LOL  I played around with some of the Tim Holtz Distress Crayons.......I just gotta say...while they're OK......to me there's really not a lot of difference (if any) from the gelatos......that's on my list of things to play around with this weekend is the Distress Crayons and Gelatos to see if I enjoy them more....

That about does it for me....I have had a couple people ask me about some of my previous designs that I had previously shared in my ETSY store...I'm in the process of getting them put back...and plan to make that my main focus this weekend.....I had planned on it last weekend but with it being a holiday weekend my time didn't end up being my time....LOL  So we'll see how this weekend goes!!!

I hope you enjoy the book I created...it's winging it's way to it's recipient right now...I hope she likes it once it arrives!!!  I as always....want to THANK YOU so much for stopping by and spending a few minutes of your day with me!!!  Feels really good to be creating and sharing once again...It's been way to long!!!!  I do hope you will come by again and visit...Until then...I wish you all a very blessed weekend!!!

Hello Hello Again....

MY oh MY...Where has this month gone!!! Can not believe it's the end of June already!!!!  Hope you have all been enjoying your Summer thus far!!! It's been a scorcher here....was a wee bit cooler today but the heat is on it's way back....

Haven't been able to get alot of creating done.....but did manage to alter a Truvia sweetner box that I liked the style of....and decided to also create a cut file out of it as well......thought I would share it with you just in case anyone might be interested in it.....

Isn't it cute!!!? ;)  So if any of you are interested in a cut file of the design...you'll find it here:

So I was sitting at work the other day holding on the phone and just started doodling on my scratch pad......I found myself doodling out a rosebud file that I ended up being quite happy with...........I went ahead and did a mockup so you can see how it printed out.....

This is a digital stamp, hand drawn by myself, Penny Duncan.  I've created this as a PNG, SCAL4 Image with an image layer, a traced layer (to allow you to change the colors of both the stroke & fill of the image) and a shadow layer for cutting the image. I've also included the file in an SVG format in all three layers as well.

The quality of the image is high so you can increase the size of the image to fit whatever project you are working on.

Once you've purchased the file you will be given a link to download the file.  If you're interested in the file you can find it on My ETSY Store

So that's it for me for tonight......I hope you all have a wonderful 4th weekend and everyone remains safe and healthy!!! I would like to THANK YOU as always for taking time to stop by and visit with me for a few minutes!!! Means way more than you know!!!  I do hope you will come by again!!! Until next time!!
