My Cutting Files

Hello Everyone...after much thought I have decided once again to share my cutting files with you all....If you are interested there is a link at the top of my blog underneath the header which will take you to my download site for the files.....Please be aware...while browsing through my previous blogposts... when you find a file you like.....the link for that image is broken...you will need to go to the link at the top of my blog to do a search for the file to download....as it is too time consuming to go through each and every post and correct the links for the files. I trust you will all understand this.
I too, will again offer the entire collection for purchase on DVD if anyone would be interested...you will find the option for that in my store....As I create new files they will be complied on a DVD in the future for those who prefer to combine that way.

A FUN Weekend for Me in My ARTHaven....

Hey Everyone.....don't you just love when when a plan comes together.....I had planned on spending the entire weekend in my ARTHaven just having FUN....and for the most part that's EXACTLY what I did.......just doing my own thing!!!!!  About a month ago I was watching all the videos from Creative Jumpstart.........(what a wonderful group of very gifted ARTists)......and it did just as described was their mission.......Jumpstart one's creativity!!!!  I fell in love with the idea of making my own background papers...and using stencils and mediums to add texture......as well as color...  So that was my goal for this weekend......go outside of my box and play with different mediums to create backgrounds for my ART....

I needed to make a couple of Birthday Cards and a Tag for a swap in my ARTHaven group......so away I went.......it was fun going at my own pace....I will say the hardest part is waiting for the pieces to dry in between each medium........I'll show you the completed ART then tell you what I did to make up the piece......So here we go...here's the first card.....

The part of this where the background was created from me is the brown layer over the pink card base......it started out as just plain white cardstock......then I took some of my Bead Gel and used a stencil I had previously cut out a couple of weeks ago......layed the stencil over the cardstock then used an oldcredit card and the Bead Gel and scrapped it across the stencil to fill in the pattern of the stencil.....then I carefully removed the stencil and set aside to dry.......(that's the part that drives me bonkers!!!! LOL).....once dried I then took several distress stains and put on the piece and spray water on it and then tilted the piece to get the stains to spread and mix on the piece.......I used a heat gun to dry it......then I took a wet wipe to wipe off the beads to lift some of the color off and allow the bead gel pattern to pop a bit more.......

Then I created the tag design you see on the card.....and added a birthday phrase for it and used my Silver Bullet Professional Cutter to do the Print and Cut Technique on it.......I just can't tell you how AWESOME a job my Silver Bullet paired with SCAL3 does on Print and Cut..........Wonderful Wonderful Wonderful!!!!  I then Scanned some stamps and did a shadow layer of the image then cut them out and stamped the image......I used my Distress stains and a waterbrush to paint the stamps  to make them look like watercolor....I gotta say this is probably one of my favorite ways to color images.....and I'm trying to get myself to do more coloring with digis and stamps....added some ribbon and this card is complete.

Now this is the last birthday card I made this weekend.........didn't do a background layer for it.....but did use a digi image......and this time used my Distress Markers to color........

So this card I also created the background layer.....it started out as drawing paper in an off white color.....added some scrap paper and tapes.....though you can't see them now...LOL  If you only knew how many layers of color was on this piece you would laugh....this was a great example of a piece that started out SUPER ugly.......so I just kept adding mediums......inks, gesso, gloss medium, fixative, inks, stains....texture medium....until I FINALLY got a color I rather liked.....so I allowed to dry really well...I have to laugh at how thick the paper got after all these layers.....but the end result I really am happy with.....I decided to run through my Big Kick with one of my Spellbinder Embossing sleeves........and then used a Memento Inkpad and hit the raised parts of the embossed design to give the design more definition......added some lace and ribbon.......Used on of the tags I had previously cut out and then colored more with stains and some irredicent color....LOVE this stuff!!!  I used another stamp image......and colored with more distress stains and a waterbrush....but then I GOOFED and used a stain dauber that left blops....I almost freaked then decided to use it as some of the character of the piece to give it an aged affect.....LOL  put a layer of irredicent color over the top...........I think it kinda works...

This is the Tag Design I created to use in the 2 cards above......I have it listed in My ETSY Store in case anyone is interested in it......

The GORGEOUS Doilie pattern you see as the background of this card is from Monica's AMAZING website...she does the most elegant detailed designs....just simply makes your mouth water.........

Now this last piece is a tag I did for a swap in my ARTHaven group........I created this background as well using a medium resin and a stencil.........then colored again with stains........

I used Adirondock Butterscotch Stain to color the flowers, leaves and ribbon......as well as used some of it on the tag along with other distress stains......I wanted my flowers to be all the same color temperature.....and I believe I got the results I was looking for......It really has an old vintagy feel to it....don't you think????

Okie dokie....yet another end to a post sharing my FUN with you....I so hope you enjoyed the pieces I had FUN creating this weekend....perhaps it might give you a few ideas??????  I, as always.....want to THANK YOU so much for stopping by to visit with me.....And I wish you all a very blessed week ahead!!!! Please do come by and visit with me again....Until then....

A Storage Solution for Me....

Hey Hey Everyone....I hope you are all enjoying a wonderful weekend......Hoping the snow is all but done for all of you up north.....WOWZERS did you all get a blizzard or what!!!  On our news they kept referring back to our 1978 Blizzard here in Kentucky/Indiana.....and comparing it to that....I was only about 13 years old back then when that Blizzard hit and we were out of school for a good month.......I remember even getting to skate (or shall I say....SLIDE) around on the lake by our home back then......that one was one for us in my area to remember for a lifetime.........I hope you all fared better then from that one so long ago......

So....I have been trying my best to come up with a storage solution for my ribbons and lace......aren't we all struggling for the perfect solution for us....Each time I thought I had a solution that would work it ended up becoming a pain for me.......so I thought and thought and came up with a solution that will work for...and I can even grow with it easily as I add more ribbons and laces........thought I would share a short video I worked up showing it to you......NO...it's not Rocket Science....and YES....it's basically just a modification of ways other people store them....but for ME it's a WIN for what I've done and I can see me utilizing my ribbons & lace more now that I can actually SEE all of them without having to dig through so much....

MY RIBBON STORAGE IDEA

So you'll notice from the video I did put a circle hole at the top of them.......thinking that say perhaps you were going to be going to a Scrapbooking outing and needed to take ribbons with you.......and perhaps you have a ring or ribbon to tie them all together and keep them handy........just a thought.....But as I shared in the video.....I used my Silver Bullet Professional Cutter to cut them out.......and I was able to get  for of them on a page for 8 1/2 x 12 paper.......and they cut beautifully....

And just so you know....these are the drawers I used.....I get mine from Walmart.....the size of the drawers are 9"x12".

So that's it for the solution that works for me......perhaps it will give you an idea or this will work for you as well!!!  As always....THANK YOU so much for taking time out of your day to stop by and visit with me......I hope you've enjoyed your visit....and I do hope you'll stop by again....I wish you all a very blessed week.......until next time.....

TGIF....And I've been Having FUN!

Happy Happy Friday Everyone.....brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.....it's COLD in my neck of the woods this morning......single digits here in Kentucky....teeth are chattering...Is it Springtime yet???? LOL

So.....While browsing Joann's a couple weeks ago I decided to pick up a couple of the wood pieces to alter......I decided upon the Art Minds Gift Bag....
I knew I was going to want to cover with some decorative paper......so I decided to work up a cut file for it to save me some time AND make the cutout areas look neater........

And here's what I created with the combination of the 2.......

I really like how this turned out.......I took the box and coated with Gesso....I then cut out the pieces using my Silver Bullet Professional Cutter.....took some of my Distress Inkpads in Old Paper & Walnut Stain and my Ink Distresser and went around all the edges....then sprayed them with a Matt Fixative so the ink wouldn't smear in the next step....then I used the Inkssentials Glue N' Seal in Matte Finish and put a base of that down with a paintbrush and then laid  the decorative cut piece down  and went over the top completely coating and set aside to dry completely......

Once dried I then coated with a layer of Rock Candy Distress Crackle Paint and set aside to completely dry......Once dried I took a Jumbo Java Chalk Ink and went over to fill in the cracks to highlight them a bit more.....I used a wet wipe to wipe the ink off the surface a bit.......

Then I added my embellishments....some of the grunge ribbon that I colored with vintage photo ink and water.....one of my PDC Sunflowers that I previously made...

Some flowers that I had purchased from my friend Angie Hall Haviland and some other goodies.....and Voila!!  Done.......Isn't it cute!!! ;)

So....That's it for me today....How about that Sports Fan!! LOL  No lonnnnnnnnnng drawn out post this time...Just was excited with this piece and couldn't wait to share it with you..I sure hope you like it as much as I do!!!!

I plan on spending a FUN full weekend in my ARTHaven this weekend and looking so forward to that!!!  I would like to THANK YOU so much for stopping by to visit with me......I wish you all a very blessed weekend and stay safe....please come by again....Until then....
