Time for Another Creative Cutting Challenge....

Hey Everyone......I hope you're all doing WONDERFUL today!!!!  So....it's that time again....time for another Creative Cutting Challenge with the Design Team I'm on.......

Creative Cutting Challenge

This this challenge it's about Halloween...but NOT a CARD........Hummm......so what would be FUN for Halloween....Well.....I came up with a "Hangie"....You know...something you can hang on a hook just to bring a smile to your face when you walk by.......so...here's what I came up with!!!

This is the design on the computer screen....with a combination of Creative Pointe files and My Files.....

This was such a FUN project to do and worked up fairly quickly once I got my idea in my head.....

On the Tombstone I used some Vintage Glitter.....(isn't it COOL)

Like my spider???...LOL  The top part of it is some Velvet Paper from Tyler over at All That Jazz Supplies and the body of the spider is some Velvet Paper from The Paper Temptress...it was white and I used a Dick Blick black marker and colored it black...worked perfectly....

So to create this piece I used some of the files in the Creative Pointe:

Halloween Set Two - Click Image to Close
You can read more about this set HERE

And I also used a couple of my cut  files......

PDC Spooky Spider 9-5-2010

PDC Spider Web 9-5-2010

I started off with picking a few of the files from the Creative Point set.......then went from there...pulling in one of my spider web files and then my scary spider.......and then it all fell together....I cut all the pieces with my Silver Bullet Professional Cutter......and used some awesome papers......everything that has glitter on them I decided to cut with just regular black cardstock and put a layer of double sided adhesive on it which I get from Tyler at All That Jazz Supplies.....this is some awesome stuff!!!!  Cut the shapes out...then removed the top layer of the adhesive and coated with glitter......works PERFECTLY!!!!

You'll notice on the tombstone piece I used Vintage Glitter...WOWZERS isn't that beautiful........love the affect....I was trying for an old stony looking headstone.......I kinda think it looks like it......for orange pieces.......(not the background piece) I used some Velvet paper from The Paper Temptress ....it was white and I colored them orange with a Dick Blick Alcohol Marker and it worked just as I had envisioned.....the pumpkin piece I ran through my embossing machine using a spider web folder.....really makes it look like a pumpkin texture don't you think!! ;)  all of the pieces I used some Walnut Stain Distressed Ink to give them more of an aged look.....

Check out the bat and the spooky spider....are they ADORABLE....I decided to use some of Tyler at All That Jazz Supplies' Black Velvet Paper......LOVE this stuff!!!!  I find  myself continuing to touch it cause I just LOVE the feel of it!!!!

So then I just layered layers and layered...used foam squares on everything.....added a couple of eyelets at the top so I could thread some ribbons through them and tie off....Voila!!!!  Completed......and a fun thing to have displayed.......So...Do you like it???????  I hope so......I think it makes you smile!!! Would LOVE to hear your thoughts!!!!

Happy Happy BEAUTIFUL Sunday.....

Hey Everyone...I SO hope you are all having a FANTASTIC day!! It is SUCH a GORGEOUS day here in my little neck of the woods!!!  I have my windows open enjoying an AMAZING cool breeze!!! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh....so PERFECT!!!!

So Yesterday I had to run into town to get some medium that I had received a request as to whether I could successfully cut with my Silver Bullet Professional Cutter.......I was eager to give it a whirl to show a very nice lady if it would cut successfully or not........It's called Arches Cold Press Water Color Paper.......I got some in both 90# and 400#.....not sure what she was needing it for....but Hey I was up for the challenge!!!! ;)

I'm THRILLED THRILLED THRILLED to share that my Silver Bullet Professional Cutter cut it with EASE!!!!! ..I shared the info with the very sweet lady so she can use that info for her decision making.....but I can share she was QUITE impressed....as am I!!!!

Sooooooooooooooooooooo....while out shopping I decided to stop by Hobby Lobby just to look around....can't pass it up if I'm there close already now can I!!!???  Would just be a CRIME I tell ya!! ;)  While browsing around I decided to take a look over in the stained glass isle...as I LOVE looking for different mediums to alter with my Silver Bullet Professional Cutter......I found some GORGEOUS GORGEOUS GORGEOUS Mother of Pearl Glass....OMG...This stuff is BEAUTIFUL!!!!  I got to wondering if I could engrave on it.....so you know me....it got the better of me and I just HAD to get some of it.......so I picked up a piece of the Mother of Pearl and also a piece of a wavy clear...haven't played with the clear yet...but OH I DID with the Mother of Pearl....

I just KNEW I wanted to make something extra special out of this glass....so I wanted to start with something I KNOW I will use once it's engraved.....so I sat and thought and came up with a poem....I write it down as it came to me...and think it's a very beautiful message......so I opened my trusty Inkscape and began........first I created my cutting file.......then I took that and created my engraving file......being meticulous with it cause I wanted to make sure it looked awesome!!!!!!  I LOVE what I came up with....would you like to see??????  Oh Yeah...I just gotta tell you.....the glass is a whopping 1/8" thick which equates out to about 4mm.......and I positioned it on the mat so the glass is between the pinch wheels...but I will tell you the pinch wheels I didn't use are still rolling along the surface of the glass......but anyway...check this out!!!!!
PDC Family Poem SAMPLE

After I finished all the engraving which took about 3 hours......as this is a 7"x7" design....I then decided to paint it with some permanent inks......it shows off the different angles of engraving I did....

So is it just me...or do you think this is GORGEOUS TOO!!!!???  I've got plans for this piece...so once I'm completed with it I'll share the finished product...if you care to see it......then it will go into My ETSY Store for anyone who might be interested in this piece.....

I worked up the files and have placed them in My ETSY Store as well.....in case there are any out there who might be interested in them....you can see them below.......

So....That's it for me today....have some more files I need to work on...I DO hope you will stop back by tomorrow as my next entry for the Creative Cutting Challenge comes out again.....I've done a piece I think is SUPER SUPER cute!!!! Maybe you will to....And as always....THANK YOU SO SO MUCH for stopping by to visit with me...I wish you all a VERY blessed week!!!!

Hey Everyone....Happy Tuesday to you all....well....what's left of it anyways!! ;)  So I've been working on some of my files and decided to turn some of them into Engraving files.......LOTS of tedious work getting it fine tuned...but SO worth the efforts......I'm LOVING them......thought I would share with you one of my files I created to Engraving and how it turned out......

This is an original Tattoo Drawing from my oldest son...he is So gifted!!  And he loves his mama so much he told me that I could use his drawings to my liking.......I am so blessed!! ;)  So...here's the file I've turned into an Engraving file....

PDC Billy Duncan Dragon Engraving 4012013

Now....check out how it turned out....I engraved the file on a 4x4 piece of Acrylic using my Silver Bullet Professional Cutter with the Engraving holder/tip.....all of which I got from Sherri at That's Scrap Inc.....does SUCH A PHENOMINAL JOB!!!

Created for My Benefit...

Hey Everyone....Happy Happy Sunday to you all!!!! Such a nice cool morning here and I'm LOVING it!!!! ;)  So...While working in my ARTHaven I was tidying up......aren't we always doing that......drives me nuts to have things out when I'm not using them!!! LOL

I happened to want to move my craft sheet off my desk surface because I use my glass cutting board that I use all the time...cause I can heat on it without having the fear of warping, or melting or burning my table surface....so I don't use the craft mat as much.......I had 2 of them that I had taped together to make it long.....I separated them to put away when I decided to utilize one of them (the older one) to use in my melting pot........I measured the size of my melting pot and drew up a pattern in Inkscape.......exported to my SCAL3 software.......

Then I cut my oldest craft mat into 8 1/2x11 sheets to cover my cutting mat...(you really wouldn't need to cut it down if you have a large cutting mat you wanted to use....)  brayered it well and loaded into my Silver Bullet Professional Cutter........put my settings on 800 Velocity and 120 Force........I put 2 of the liners on my virtual mat and set it to cut....and it worked BEAUTIFULLY!!!!!

.I was able to EASILY cut 5 of the melting liners from the craft sheet I had!!! Not bad huh!!! ;)

I decided to list the file…in case anyone is interested in the file to make your own if you happen to have some extra craft mats laying around!!!

PDC Melting Liner

So...that's my crafty idea for the day.......sure hope you liked it.....and are able to get dual purpose for something you already had and wanted to use it in multiple ways!!!  I want to THANK YOU so much for stopping by....I wish you all a VERY blessed Sunday and do hope you will come by again!! Until then....

My First DT Entry.....for Creative Pointe Cutting Challenge!!!

Well.....TODAY'S THE DAY!!! My very first Design Team Entry for Creative Pointe!!! I'm super excited and so hope you'll like what I created......The name of the challenge blog is:

Creative Cutting Challenge

The Theme for this Challenge is "Anything Goes"........That made it SO nice but hard at the same time!!! ;)  I used a couple of files from The Creative Point and the other files I created.........So here we go....

On this card I used the "Window Wipes" (that's the nickname I've given them for my description......The Creative Point refers to them as "ARTY Accents"........and the Banner which I have my phrase written on is from The Pumpkin Patch set from The Creative Point....I'll share a link to the sets at the end of this post......

I really had alot of fun with this once I figured what I wanted to do.......I started my idea off with their "ARTY Accents" and went from there....don't they make you think of when your windows are fogged or frosted up and you can't see out so you wipe or scrape the window???!! ;)
So from there I knew I wanted a window of some kind.....so I drew this one and then decided I wanted a window box so I drew that as well......did the layers and put it all together......I saved all of my pieces and sent them to SCAL3.......and cut them all with my Silver Bullet Professional Cutter......(LOVE this machine).
Once I had the frame of the window cut...(which I used a file folder as the material) I coated it in Perfect Medium and then covered with embossing powder and heat embossed......looks like real wood...don't you think???.....Then I cut some acetate and glued with a Zig Pen to the window....then the layer of Vellum (which I got the Vellum from The Paper Temptress)....next I added the Garden scene behind that......adhered all that to a layer piece that is the same shape only I cut a Shadow layer of the shape to give a border around the window......
At this point I put the window box together and then added foam squares to attach to the window box...so it would give it more of a 3D affect.......added some of my vines and then some of my coffee filter PDC Grungy Roses and coffee filter PDC Cala Lilies.........I also distressed the edges of the pieces with Tea Dye Distress Ink......Added some bird buttons I had in my stash......
On the inside of the card I took a piece of lace border and colored quickly with the same Tea Dye Distress Ink and then attached to the inside of the card....added a bird button and some pearls from my stash...Then I used a Black Ultra Fine Sharpie and put it in the Pen Tool Holder that I got from Sherri at That's Scrap Inc. and used my Silver Bullet Professional Cutter to draw the phrase and then cut out the banner....distressed the edges with Tea Dye Distress Ink and added foam squares to attach to card.... and the card is complete!!!  I love the soft look of this card!!!!  So...do you like it???? Would love to hear your thoughts......
I've decided to list this Card Design ....so if you're interested in it you may click the link below.......I am also sharing the links to the other files that I used in this card as well......

And here is the links to the 2 kits from The Creative Point I obtained the Banner and ARTY Accents from:

Another Day to Create...Another Challenge Down....

Oh What FUN FUN FUN I'm having this weekend!!! We have another GORGEOUS day today with temps in the mid 70's....windows open and AWESOME breeze coming in...I'm LOVING it!!!!

So this morning I came back to my ARTHaven to play some more.....wanted to try my had at a Sketch Challenge over at Outlawz Challenges.........this is the sketch design.....

So here's my interpretation of the sketch......

I so hope I met the requirements for this.......I'm always nervous when I try my hand at a Challenge cause I don't want to goof it up......

But I had ALOT of fun doing the Print & Cut Technique with some digi graphics I have......using my Silver Bullet Professional Cutter and Sure Cuts Alot 3 (SCAL).......I can't tell you what an AWESOME AWESOME job SCAL does on the Print & Cut........you can get absolutely spot on cutting I tell ya......and SCAL makes it SO easy with the Laser with my Silver Bullet Pro Cutter.......

I also used the Pen Tool with my Silver Bullet Pro that I got from Sherri over at That's Scrap Inc.....with a Ultra Fine Sharpie Marker.....LOVE it!!!!!  I created the phrase you see on the banner on this piece....

Okie Dokie Artichokie!!!! That's it for me for now...I REALLY hope you like my card today!!!! And I will have another Challenge Entry tomorrow for the Creative Cutting Challenge Design Team I'm on...so I hope you'll come back by!!!!!  And just one more reminder about the That's Scrap Fabric Blade Blog Hop we're having through Saturday 9/15/2012.........Someone will be blessed with a Gift Certificate from Sherri's Store...That's Scrap Inc.......  I wish you all a VERY BLESSED WEEK!!!!! Until next time.....

So I played today...for my first Challenge!!!!

Hey Everyone...Happy SATURDAY to you all....I hope you've all enjoyed a WONDERFUL day!!! The weather was SO GORGEOUS here today!!! Temps in the 70's.....How AWESOME huh!!!

So...I recently joined the online group Outlawz Challenges.....and they had a Challenge for September 3rd...creating anything with the theme of Music.........so I thought I would try my hand at it......here's what I came up with....

PDC Love Makes Your Heart Sing 09082012 (3)PDC Love Makes Your Heart Sing 09082012 (1)PDC Love Makes Your Heart Sing 09082012 (7)PDC Love Makes Your Heart Sing 09082012 (6)PDC Love Makes Your Heart Sing 09082012 (5)PDC Love Makes Your Heart Sing 09082012 (4)

I created this card using SEVERAL cut files!!!!!  Me and my Silver Bullet Professional Cutter had the BEST day today!!! The Doily is a file I just LOVE from Monica's blog.....here's the link to her AMAZING  creations!!!! http://www.fam-bjork.se/monicas-hobbysida/craft_robo.html  she creates the most detailed intricate files.....just AWESOME!!!!!
I used a border file I have.....my PDC Grungy Roses file that I created roses from.....I knew I wanted to have the music theme through the entire card...so I took a music sheet and scanned it....(as the actual music sheets were very very old and brittle).....Then I just printed with my Laser Printer front and back of the paper and then cut out my PDC Grungy Roses file and created the roses....I also used one of my Coffee Filter PDC Grungy Roses on this as well as a couple of my Coffee Filter PDC Cala Lily files......and some of my Ivy files.....and PDC Rose Leaf File.....
Then on the phrase...I created that one new today......so I could personalize it for this card.....I really like how it turned out......I printed out with black laser ink and then used my Foil Master and foiled the phrase in Bronze foil...though I think I might have had my Foil Master a we bit high on the temp......ooopppsss!!! LOL
But I still love the sheen you can see on the phrase when you angle the card.....I used foam squares to raise this up off the surface of the card.......added pearls to the bottom border...a bit of ribbon as a band.....and she's done!!!!  Don't you think it's pretty????....I do love it.......
So.....would you like to have that phrase??????
Okie Dokie...that does it for me for now......Hopefully I'll get to play more tomorrow!!! Hope you'll come back by and check.......Also...don't forget about the That's Scrap Fabric Blade Challenge going on through next Saturday!!!!  You'll want to check out the awesome creations and play along!!!!!  You can read more about it on my blog post here.....
I wish you all a VERY blessed remainder of your weekend...Hope to see you again...until next time!!!!
