How about a storage idea.......

Hello Hello Everyone....Hope you are all doing well this week......You know I actually went into a craft store for the first time in several months....WOW right???....LOL  Seemed like it had been forever.......browsed around didn't find much that I didn't already have...but one idea I saw I really liked the idea......and the price wasn't bad.......but I thought I could come up with my own version and it would be easy for me to customize my idea so it works perfectly for me......and I have to say I am rather and pleased with how it worked out......thought I would work up a quick video.....and then I'm sharing pics below........

As you will see I really don't have to go into great detail of what I did as you can see how easy it is......but I just wanted to show it to you.....

So here are the still pics of the folders in the sleeves so you can see how I was able to make whatever sizing I needed and it works flawlessly.......

Okie Dokie....So that's my little idea.........I hope it's an idea you might find useful!!!!  I want to thank you so much for stopping by to visit with me......brings a big smile to my face!!!  If there is an idea you would like to see a video for...I would love for you to leave me a comment.......I wish you all a very blessed week....and hope you will come by and visit again....Until then...

Hoping You had a Merry Christmas.....

Hello Everyone!!!  Hope this post finds you all well......WOWZERS can you believe Christmas time is here and gone!! This has been one fast year....but one I must admit I'm more than ready to say "Adios" to...LOL

I am determined to make 2016 my year to have a creative comeback!!! I'm so sick of being in a creative funk....I'm putting my focus in ART and what I enjoy for my soul!!!  If any of you know of any good ARTing communities out there EXCEPT Facebook....I would love it if you would leave a comment and let me know what they are......I'm really wanting to get involved in swapping and creative communities again....but they are so hard to find......I am just not a fan of Facebook....as much as I've tried to embrace it and the groups there.....it's just not my thing...I truly feel like it's rather impersonal and you really can't appreciate the love and efforts one puts into their creations by scrolling through just images......That's why I've decided to move away from Facebook and put more attention back to my blog and other's blogs.....I miss the bonding of fellow ARTists and enjoying their process of creations with them.....

So...having had my little rant...LOL I thought I would share with you what I've created as of late.....I had a request for some Christmas Tags.......so I happily took up the challenge.....I just have to tell you....that since I've gotten my huge monitor I HAVE been able to create files again and do the detail work I truly enjoy......and have special readers made specifically for my close up detail work....my Optomitrist calls them Occupational Readers...where they are designed for a specific  function.....they have 3 strengths built into them specific for the distances I work in my ART...and while the lines are a nusiance they really seem to be helping...using them in conjunction with my contacts of course....so I am truly thankful!!!!  It's nice to have a doctor that listens to ones needs...you know!!  I'm blessed and thankful!!!

So...back to my special order.......They left all the designs of their wants up to me....they said they enjoy seeing what I come up with...which of course made me feel great!! ;)  I have to tell you now.....through making these tags I have fallen completely in love with my Foil Master AND Silver Bullet all over again.......these are both sweet pieces of machinery that I am so happy I don't have to live without.......So here we go....

This first tag I had in my thoughts for a while......almost immediately after I got the order....and mulled on it for a few days......I'm thrilled with how it turned out and it was a huge hit!!! Check it out....

I did the print and cut technique for the phrase....I stamped it off...then scanned the image I had stamped and traced in SCAL4Pro....then I printed off using my Mono Laser printer so I could then foil it with my Foil Master......foiled beautifully!!!!  I then distressed the edges with some of my distress ink pads......

For the wreath I cut out branches and vines using printer paper thickness colored paper...approximately 20# paper....then colored more green families with my spray inks....love the different hues of greens I ended with....

For the "sky" background of the window scene I started with white cardstock....then used several different snowflakes stamps I have and stamped in clear embossing ink...then sprinkled clear embossing powder and heat set.....then used 2 different colors of blue distress inks to color the background and make the snowflakes pop.......

I used foam tape between the layers of the background and the birch tree layer....then between the birch tree layer and the window payne layer...to give some depth to the tag so when I used some of my chunky glitter as "snow" you could it shake between the layers.....worked beautifully and gave the tag the perfect depth.....

for the ornaments on the wreath these are some berries I had on other artificial flowers I had taken apart several years ago.....

They ended up truly loving this and got a kick out of shaking it and seein the "snow" moving around...It was a lot of FUN to make....

I know Christmas has passed...but still thought I would share the files with you in case anyone might be interested and perhaps get a head start on next year!!! LOL

Okie Dokie....On we go.....this next tag I had a lot of fun with as well.....I knew I wanted to do with with depth to the scene.....and my vision came through perfectly......check it out....

I printed the song image onto black cardstock using my black toner printer using the highest settings available for that printer.  You couldn't see the font well...but you know it's there....Then I took my foil and placed the paper with my foil face up on top of the paper into a sleeve and placed into my Foil Master.

Once Foiled I took a white tag base I had cut out (because) it was easer to stamp the to/from on a white back and it also gave the tag more stability) and I glued the tag to the backside of the foiled paper and then cut the black foiled paper to the shape of that tag.

I sat that aside and began working on the Nativity layers.  I cut one of each layer in 110# Recollections white cardstock.  Once cut I hit the top edges of each layer with Pumice Stone distress ink with my applicator...then ran some tacky glue along those same edges and used glitter over the tacky glue...sat aside and allowed to dry.

While waiting on the layers to dry I then printed...again using my laser printer and printed the phrase "Oh Holy Night" onto a tag cut file I have and did the print and cut technique again...went ahead and
cut them out then did the foiling.....Just the perfect pop to the words!!!!

To adhere the different layers I used foam tape between each layer...gives a nice height and depth to the card and  gives the affect I was looking for....

This tag really has a stunning impact to it and it as well was a huge hit......I did create the entire phrase background...so it is included in the cutting file as well as I'm sharing just that file itself for those who may just want that......

On we go....This next tag I have totally flipped over myself!!!!!  It is beyond gorgeous in my opinion and I used ALOT of foiling in this design.......I took my stamps....stamped them out....then scanned them and did the print and cut technique with my laser mono printer to enable me to foil these....so I do not have a file to share with you for this....but perhaps it can still give you inspiration......to me this was a true labor of love and SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO worth the efforts....Check it out...

Isn't it stunning?????  The sparkle is UNBELIEVBLY GORGEOUS!!!!  And I think the gold bow just sets it off......LOVE this and know I will do more in the future!!!!

So now my last tag....was so much fun.....and very festive.....I love the individual detail of each branch I did.....and AGAIN I foiled the branches.......I told you...I have fallen in love with my Foil Master AND Silver Bullet all over again...wasn't fibbin' was I?  So check this one out...

Not sure if you recognize them or not.....but notice the ornaments on the trees???  You know what those are...right???  Remember SEVERAL years ago I did a blogpost on making my own glue dots???  Well these are some of those glue dots I made eons ago.....never really used them much...but they were PERFECT for these tags....gave the perfect amount of bling I thought....

Also....the "garland" on the trees...well it was actually some red twisted rope I had on hand....I took them...unwound them to give me 3 small strands......then I took the strands.....coated them in glue and then rolled them in some tinsel glitter....worked perfectly and really gives the look and feel of the tinsel garland you buy for your Christmas trees.....

Needless to say....I had  a BLAST using glitter this year...LOL  I'm still finding glitter over everything in my ARTHaven....but that's ok....at least I have a bit of a sparkle to me!!! HAHA....

Ok...for any of those who might be interested I'm also sharing the file I created for this tree tag as well......

So....Those are the  tags I created...and have to say I'm quite tickled with how they all turned out......and more importantly...the person who ordered them was totally thrilled!!! So it was a win win all the way around...and it feel amazing to play with paper again!!! So for the next 2 days and my 4 day weekend next week....I plan on spending it here in my ARTHaven.....playing playing and playing some more!!!!! AND...btw...making my around to so many of my favorite blogs I've missed......

I want to THANK each and everyone one of you for taking time out of your day to stop by and visit with me.....It means so much more to me then you'll ever understand....and I truly am looking forward to a year of creative excitement!!!!  I hope you all are enjoying your creative muse as well.....I would like to wish each and everyone one of you a very Blessed and Happy New Year!!!!  May your family be well and full of love!!!!!  Please come by again...Until next time....

Alas....the end to a wonderful long weekend.......

WOW...Can you believe how quickly a 4 day weekend rolls by!!!  Sure wish it was a couple of days longer......

I am excited to share...I actually spent a good part of my day back in my ARTHaven......playing with paper....I needed to make a Thank You card for someone.....and I really had a lot of fun making it.....used some of the Tim Holtz Crazy Bird stamps.......some phrase stamps and my Foil Master....and had a great time!!!!  Wanna see what I created???
I just love the crispness of this card......I usually don't do such a stark white card but this one just really grabs me and I'm thrilled with it.....it allows the foiling and the image to pop...
I used foam squares on the balloons to raise them up off the card......to give a wee bit of dimension...
I colored the glasses with my Spectrum Noir markers then covered with double sided adhesive and coated in glitter.....love the bling it gives to them......then I glued them down and put glossy accents in for the lenses.....I also drew on the eyelashes to make it a lady crazy bird....and of course a bit of "blush"....I colored all with watercolor pencils....then used Wink of Stella on the beak, balloons, flower and band on the hat her tail and her toes......
I absolutely LOVE how the phrase turned out....I stamped then scanned and printed off with my laser printer so I could run through my Foil Master using a magenta colored foil......It is SO pretty!!!  And used a backing layer of foiled cardstock in the magenta color that matchs perfectly....will definitely be doing more of this in the future!!

So that's my playtime for the day......feels so great to be back in my ARTHaven and enjoying the time playing with paper and creating......I really hope you like my card......

I again want to Thank You so much for taking a few minutes of your day to stop by and visit with me.....I plan on doing the very same once this post is done so I can catch up on so many blogs I've missed since I've been away from the circuit......Your comments and visits mean more then I can ever express to you......

Plan on playing more this week....sure hope you'll come back by again soon.......I wish you all a very blessed week ahead....until next time.....

Hello Hello.....Remember Me???

Well HELLO Everyone!!!!!  I hope you've not all forgotten me.....such a long time since I've posted.....almost don't know where to start!!!  If you've stopped by to visit with me I want to thank you so much!!! Will go ahead and give you a heads up...this is a LONG post with a TON of pics....

Since my last post almost 6 months ago I've had a lot of ups and downs with health in my family....All of which the Lord uses to grow us I believe.......All started with my vision.....then in July I managed to break my foot when I stepped backwards off the bottom step of my porch (which is less than 1" off the ground btw...LOL) and rolled my ankle and breaking my foot in the process....WOWZERS that HURT!!!  Had the joy of using a walking cast / crutches & brace for the better part of 3 1/2 months......I'm finally able to walk around most of the time without a brace.....but will probably always need off an on for the future.....I can walk however...and that's the important part!!!

Then last month my hubby had a heart attack!!! Talk about a scare right??!!  I had been praying the Lord would take the desire for my hubby to smoke from him.....Well....HE DID!!!  But it obviously took the heart attack to FINALLY get hubby to understand......he ended up with 1 stint...still has 2 small blockages but his main artery is 60% blocked still...HOWEVER....if he does as he must he will never get worse....and this is what he is striving towards.....He has successfully been a NON smoker for 7 weeks so far and I am SO proud of him!!!!  See the Lord can use all bad for good!!!  He even blessed us in that he allowed no heart damage to occur through the heart attack...and placed him at the right place at the right time when the heart attack occurred and they took amazing care of him.....I am truly grateful!!!

Within the past couple of weeks hubby could see that I am really struggling with not being able to be creative the way I want because of my vision...so...we talked and decided that I would be better suited to go back to a desktop computer and use a large screen to enable me to be able to do the detail work that I truly enjoy!!  So that's what we've done!!!  I am blessed to be able to work with a 32" monitor and it's helping SO MUCH!!!  I can now see to do exactly what I want and have felt the creative bug return...I am SO happy!!!!

Now you will be seeing more from me from this point forward and I'm hoping to be able to share more as well.....So I thought I would start off with this post and share with you what I have been able to create in the past several months since I've been away.....hope you wanna see...cause I'm just so itching to share!!! LOL

While I was not on the computer much I decided I wanted to teach myself how to knit (something I had never learned...and now I know why...) I managed to create one thing....a wash cloth.....see...

It's not perfect.....but it's functional.....but in the process I've realized I do not care for knitting....don't like using 2 needles...I definitely prefer crocheting more.....so I started doing some of that....made a few dish cloths....then decided to make a lap blanket for myself......I really love how it turned out....see...

And it's really warm and snuggly....looks good laying on the back of my recliner too!! ;)

I wanted to make all the loved ones in my family a personalized Christmas stocking they could keep for years and years to come....so I created a template to use as the pattern for my stocking and then had each member of my family to pick out the fabrics they wanted to have used on their stockings.....here's the fabrics they all chose.....

I decided I wanted to personalize each one even more so I decided to embroider their names on one side of the stocking and then the nickname we have for each one of them on the other side.....here's a group pic of all of them completed and then I'll show you individual pics of each stocking so you can see them better....

I did create all of the embroidery files for all the embroidery work that was done on each stocking....gotta say I love the embroidery program I use for doing this....and I found a super simple way of creating my embroidery files...using a combination of Inkscape and Embird.....and it works flawlessly!!! ;)  So here's pics individually of each stocking.....

Didn't these turn out awesome!!! Everyone is thrilled with them which makes me feel so awesome!!!

I thought I would share with you the file I created to make my template using my Silver Bullet Professional cutter......which cut the template material like butter!!!

https://app.box.com/s/8ggngbnxgosft5a8w8q5rxjg8pdacjy1

Well...then I decided I wanted to make me an over the shoulder purse that I could just carry my debit card, drivers license, reading glasses and phone with me....but I wanted to personalize it some...so I used one of my cross files I've shared in the past and turned it into an embroidery file.......added my initials and then went with that......here's how it turned out.....

Isn't it cute???  I think so and it is perfect  for my needs!!!

So...are you still with me???  That's all the knitting, crocheting, embroidery and sewing I've done over the last 6 months.......Once hubby and I got my new computer set up with the large monitor I was able to begin playing with paper again...YEAHHHHHHHHHHH!!! I SO have missed playing with paper.....So happy to be "home" again!!!  I have actually created a couple of cards....and think they turned out rather cute and thought I would share these with you as well.....

I enjoyed making this shaker card.....and love how you can see the sequins show through the letters......just a FUN interactive card don't you think!!!!  I just stamped, embossed then colored my card front using distress inks once I had it the way I wanted it I then used SCAL4 Pro and used one of the fonts on my computer and made my virtual mat the size of the card front I was using and cut out the letters using my Silver Bullet Professional cutter......glued acetate to the backside of the card front then foam tape around the card piece...added my sequins and another piece of paper over that to secure the sequins inside.....such a simple and fun technique with a big impact....

Then this next card is a Squash card......such a fun card to make and super simple!!!!!
I used my handmade flowers and butterflies as the embellishments on the front of the card.....and a previously stamped phrase I had in my stash and some of my print and cut ivey I also had in my stash..

The finished size of this card is a 6x6 and I started with a 12x12 piece of cardstock......such a great impact for such a simple card don't ya think???

WOWZERS...So did you stick with me?????  Gosh I sure hope so.....I wanted to be able to start off fresh but I wanted to share all that I was able to accomplish in the past several months hence the Lonnnnnnnnnnggggggg post!!!!

I didn't share any of the embroidery files I  created cause I wasn't sure if anyone would be interested in them.....plus there are so many formats used of embroidery files I decided it was best to just not share any.......

I would like to THANK YOU  all so much for stopping by to visit with me...it truly means more than you know!!!!  I do hope you will stop by and visit with me again and I would LOVE to hear from you.....if anyone has a file they are needing to get created...feel free to drop me an email... pennylduncan@outlook.com ....would be happy to help if I can.....I want to get back to my old self again....and what better way to do that right???  I would like to wish you all a VERY blessed week ahead.....and I hope to have you visit again!!! Until next time.....
