Hey Everyone…..I pray everyone is doing well and made it through the horrible weather so many in the middle of the country has endured over the past several days……..
So……I actually spent the entire past weekend in my ARTHaven and had the BEST time!!! It felt great to actually play for an entire weekend…….Created 2 pieces for gifts I needed…..One I get to share with you now…..the other I can’t yet as it’s going to be published in the upcoming edition of the online magazine Cutting Edge…which I’m THRILLED about!!! I’m EXCITED to share that I’m now a Guest Designer for this online magazine and quite honored!!!! The owner of the magazine is a wonderful lady……..Have you checked it out before???? If not…you REALLY should!!! It’s awesome!!!!
Ok…..On to the piece I get to share now…….It’s nothing earth shattering but it’s something that meant a lot to my youngest son’s girlfriend who is graduating Friday…..I just thought it was something she would enjoy…..and I was right!!! She loved it!!!!
I decided to take a couple of pictures I had taken of them and digitally cut them away from the background and put them together and added a background to the image……and then printed that off…..
Then I just took a simple frame……the color of the frame was burgundy…I took some of the Tim Holtz Distress Crackle Paint in the Brushed Pewter and painted the frame….though the results were not as I expected…it still gave the piece a nice sheen and a bit of a two tone color and she really liked it…so in the end…it was a happy accident……
I then took the boutonniere that I had made for my son for her prom and attached it to the frame….made another rose in the other color I had done for her corsage and also added a couple of my other handmade flowers to it…….and VOILA……simple but VERY effective and she LOVES it……
So then I decided I wanted to make her a card to give to her with the frame…….I had the best fun utilizing my Silver Bullet Professional Cutter for ALL OF THESE pieces…….I make all my flowers from scratch…and I also made the letters for Kayla’s name from scratch…….
I cut out the letters from decorative papers…and then cut the letters out again with white chipboard to give the letters a nice stiffness…then I coated the letters with double-sided adhesive and coated in find detail glitter…..so her name just sparkles……. I also used my PCD Graduation Cap file……….I think the card turned out so adorable!!!
What made this even more special to me?? Kayla absolutely LOVES everything I make for her……she cherishes them and keeps them displayed in her room at home……How SPECIAL is that!!!!!! Makes this mama so proud!!!!
Ok….so now I have some more…EXCITING NEWS!!!! That I just HAVE TO BRAG ABOUT!!!!!
